Connection
Size: 36 x 48", 91cm X 121 cm
Medium: Acrylic, Emulsion Paints on Canvas

Blue is commonly associated with calmness and tranquility, evoking a deep sense of peace within us. The blue spectrum features a variety of shades, each representing unique emotions and experiences, much like the diversity found in individuals. From the soft, pale hues reminiscent of a clear sky to the deep, rich tones of the ocean, each shade tells its own story. This painting captures the essence of these blues, illustrating how they can come together harmoniously to create a collective sense of serenity. Ultimately, it reflects the beauty of unity in diversity, inviting viewers to find solace in its depths.

"The wall is not just a boundary; it is a large canvas where art meets life. It is an integral component of the artwork, embodying the spirit of the environment and encouraging a dialogue between nature and the human experience through Terena's practices."

"Underneath" (2020)
Medium: Paints on Canvas and Wall
"The wall itself is integral to the artwork, showcasing the residual marks.

This piece features layers of paint on canvas, with the final result revealing only the outermost layers. Beneath these layers lie traces of our actions and experiences, recording what we’ve encountered."

"Underneath II" (2020)

She folded the silk once and painted on one side. The marks left behind trace my experiences. The reverse of the silk records what I felt.

This process mirrors our repressed unconscious mind, which continuously stores emotions beneath our conscious awareness. It illustrates the interdependence of consciousness and unconsciousness, showing that they are not inherently antagonistic.

"I’m at Peace with It” (2021)
Size: 60 cm x 120 cm
Medium: Spray, acrylic, copper leaf on canvas

Painting serves as an innate language of the body, accessible to everyone. In a moment of reconnection with my emotions, body, and mind, I found that art creates a bridge between the conscious and unconscious, bringing everything to the surface.
Take time to date your drawings and reflect on how they felt to you!
