Theme: Ephemeral Senses
Reconnected, 2020
I just came back to Hong Kong from Glasgow because of the coronavirus at the moment. During the isolation period, many negative feelings always come to my mind. I was inspired and completed a series of digital paintings. I always believe the initiative of engagement in arts helps soothing my soul, anxiety and emotions. I found a way to release my feelings through paintings and feel how arts can express our inner psyche again.
Art is a bridge between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind, it can bring our unconscious to the surface, to the conscious mind to express ourselves; Art connects our spiritual self and our physical self, even connects to the deeper part of us.
This series of paintings are completed by my guided Imagery, which is a method of using your imagination to help you cope better with stress and the anxiety of life. Making art with no plan feel like freeing my imaginations, which I am at peace with it. It provides me a feeling of flow, allows me for the true self-expression. I am recreating my sensory perception of sights so that it is reconnecting my inner stillness when I visually look back my piece of painting.
Everyone needs art.
